Programme Leads & Facilitators
The TYC team supports the delivery, safeguarding and development of our programmes.
We work alongside young people - not over them, creating the conditions for youth voice, creativity and leadership to thrive.

Several members of our delivery team are former Young Creatives, reflecting our commitment to long-term development and progression into creative careers.

Marie Amey
Founder & Creative Director | Facilitates The Young Creative Sessions

Leads and facilitates The Young Creatives weekly programmes across Portsmouth and Havant, including Seedlings, Budding Actors and Company. Marie also delivers one-to-one LAMDA coaching and oversees the creative direction and safeguarding of all programmes

Portia Welch
Seedlings Lead (Portsmouth) | Assistant Facilitator – Budding & Company

Portia is an alumna of The Young Creatives, having joined the programme over 12 years ago. After progressing through TYC and training at stage school, she now returns as a facilitator, supporting younger members and contributing to the delivery of weekly sessions in Portsmouth.

Dylan Pratt
TYC Vocal Group Lead
Dylan is an alumnus of The Young Creatives, having progressed through the programme before returning as a Vocal Group Lead. He supports young people to develop confidence, vocal technique and ensemble skills.
Young Volunteer Assistants
Our Young Assistants are part of a structured development pathway, completing a minimum of 100 volunteer hours to gain experience and training before progressing into paid assistant roles where appropriate.
Young Assistants support session delivery, inclusion and pastoral care across programmes.

Michelle Parvin
Young Volunteer Assistant | Havant Groups
Michelle supports weekly Young Creatives sessions in Havant as part of TYC’s volunteer development pathway, gaining experience in youth facilitation and inclusive creative practice.

Patrick Bray
Young Volunteer Assistant | Portsmouth Groups
Patrick supports weekly Young Creatives sessions in Portsmouth as part of TYC’s volunteer development pathway, working towards progression into paid assistant roles.

Associate Artists & Freelance Practitioners
We work with a pool of experienced freelance artists and practitioners who support the delivery of funded workshops, events and projects, including Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes and other commissioned work.
​
All freelancers are contracted by TYC Arts & Education CIC, are DBS checked and work in line with our safeguarding, inclusion and youth-led values.
​
Our associate practitioners include drama facilitators, filmmakers, designers, musicians, workshop leaders and creative producers, engaged on a project-by-project basis.
