After School Clubs

We provide fun after school clubs that help students grow in confidence and result in productions for parents

After school clubs can be catered to your needs however our prepared sessions work on teaching the basic skills of drama through games, exercises and scripts. These skills focus on teaching students the importance of facial expression, body language and voice projection.

Drama PPA Sessions

Our weekly drama classes are structured around teaching the key elements of performance – Using facial expression, body language and the voice.

Each section encompasses the fundamentals of Key Stage 2 learning whilst encouraging communication and social skills.

The sessions are usually divided into the four terms, within each we explore the three drama elements using an array of theatrical techniques –

Facial Expression

Exploring emotion, using mime

Body Language

Isolation of body parts, expression emotion through the body, melodrama, looking at characters with defined movements

The Voice

Looking after our voices, warm ups and breathing techniques’, using sounds to display emotion, projection, how the voice is effected through motion, tongue twisters, accents, duologues

Combining Skills

Devising a script as a small group, building characters within the script, exploring voice, body and face for our individual characters, adding music, props and costume, how music, props and costume effect our characters.

This structure is followed for all years within the Key Stage 2 level, however each class is adapted to appropriate exercises and scripts.

Past experiences have seen that this process works well in encouraging young people to realise other forms of communication, the growth of trust and support for their classmates, exploration of self and a growing willingness to try and communicate in ways that may have be alien to them.
