The Young Creatives is a youth-led arts organisation placing access, opportunity and creative growth at its heart.

We offer a creative environment that values curiosity, collaboration and growth, creating space for young people to explore performance, film, writing and creative roles both on stage and behind the scenes.

We believe creativity supports wellbeing through belonging, voice and shared responsibility. Our work prioritises learning over perfection and values process as much as outcome.

We hold high expectations for all young people and support them to grow artistically at their own pace.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support children and young people to build confidence, creativity and wellbeing through youth-led creative opportunities that place their voices at the centre.

We believe that when young people are trusted with ownership, responsibility and choice, they develop the skills and self-belief to thrive both creatively and personally.
Our Approach
We work differently from traditional arts provision.

This approach allows young people to engage at a level that feels right for them, while developing transferable skills and a strong sense of belonging.
Our work includes:

Weekly youth creative programmes through The Young Creatives in Portsmouth and Havant

Workshops, events and youth-led productions

Creative learning delivered in partnership with schools and community organisations

Funded programmes offering free and subsidised access, including projects supported through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme and Household Support Fund
What We Deliver
Youth voice is central to how TYC operates.

Young people help shape our creative work, influence decisions, and take on leadership roles across the organisation. This is supported through our Youth Board, which works alongside Directors as part of our wider governance structure.
This approach has shaped TYC since its beginnings and continues to inform how we grow, partner and deliver work across the region.
